Stems/Trunks: In its natural state, it is a single-stemmed palm, but it is almost always sold in clusters of 10–30 seedlings to create a lush, bushy appearance. The stems are slender, green, and “bamboo-like,” often showing ringed scars where old leaves have fallen off.
Flowers and Fruit: Uniquely, it can bloom even at a young age (around 12 inches tall). It produces sprays of tiny, bead-like yellow flowers. If pollinated, these turn into small, pea-sized black fruits, though this is rare indoors.
